Jeremy Hughes: putting dementia on the map

Posted by in General

Around 670,000 people in England live with dementia – a number which will double in the next 30 years. The Department of Health Dementia Map sets out what we currently know about dementia care, support and research across England.

Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive of the Alzheimer’s Society, asks: what do we still need to do to help individuals, families and carers live well with dementia?  There are some 200,000 people living with dementia, in their own homes and often alone.

A third of those do not even get out of the house once a week!
